Today 26 May 2021 is an awareness day for Bipolar. This year is set aside for the stigmatism that bipolar sufferers face in their homes, workplaces and in the general society. Stigmatism on a broad spectrum originated way back when Bipolar was known as Manic depression and because it was and still classified as a Mental illness, suffers were judged as mentally ill and people were afraid of them.
Today as with all support, sharing resources, talking about the illness and sharing knowledge of the illness allows people to come forward and understand the illness.
Support of people with bipolar has improved however people are still afraid to employ sufferers of the illness. Judgement is harsh and employment is often not given as the medical records show the illness.
Today take a moment to show support for a sufferer of bipolar. There is different types of the illness and often society is the cause of the stigmas as they are not knowledgeable on the illness.
